• After the operation, do not eat or drink anything until the local anesthesia disappears (approximately 2-3 hours). You may have mild bleeding in the form of leakage. Do not rinse your mouth with water in order to stop bleeding and do not spit the blood out. There is no harm in swallowing blood.

 

  • Pay attention to oral hygiene after the operation and avoid any movements that may cause irritation and trauma. Keep your sutures clean by gargling your mouth with plenty of mouthwash, but avoid movements that may break the sutures, such as cleaning with a toothpick (start gargling 24 hours after the operation).

 

  • Avoid hot food and drinks, direct sunlight on the operation area in warm weather, and working in front of the furnace. Consume warm soup on the first day and warm and soft foods for the next two days.

 

  • On the day of the operation, a cold compress (ice pack) must be applied to the area. The application should be: From the exterior of the operated area, a cold compress bag should be applied for 5 minutes, then rest for 5 minutes. Start the application immediately after the operation is completed and continue until you sleep at night

 

  • For at least 3 days, ideally for 1 week, DO NOT smoke, drink alcohol, or consume acidic drinks / food.

 

  • If you experience aching pain after the effect of anesthesia goes off, you can use a painkiller recommended by your dentist (except for medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid such as aspirin). For the first night, sleep by keeping your head above your heart level (by using a double pillow).

 

  • If you have bleeding for more than 48 hours, facial swelling, severe pain, and restricted opening of the mouth, consult your dentist.
